About Maryland Gun Shop
An online store for the long guns Marylanders actually use: waterfowl shotguns for the Bay and the Eastern Shore, deer rifles and slug guns, lever actions, rimfires, and the ammunition for all of them.
Maryland is a hard state to shop for online. Most national gun sites show you thousands of items, and a good share of them cannot be sold here. You find out at checkout, or worse, from your dealer. We built this store the other way round: the catalog is filtered for Maryland law first, so what you see is what we can ship to a Maryland dealer.
How we work
- Online only. There is no showroom or counter to visit. You order here and collect from a licensed dealer you choose.
- Every firearm through an FFL. We ship guns only to federally licensed dealers, who complete ATF Form 4473 and the background check with you.
- Live price and stock. Both are checked again when you place the order, before you pay by secure card checkout.
- Plain answers. Ask us about a model, a gauge, or how a transfer works before you buy. We will tell you when we do not know.
What we don't sell to Maryland, and why
- Handguns and frames. A Maryland handgun sale needs a Handgun Qualification License (Public Safety Article § 5-117.1), a model on the state Handgun Roster and a Maryland regulated-firearms dealer who files the State Police application. We cannot verify any of that from a listing, so we list none.
- AR and AK pattern rifles and other banned long guns. Criminal Law Article §§ 4-301 to 4-303.
- Magazines over 10 rounds, or any magazine whose listing does not state its capacity. Criminal Law Article § 4-305.
- NFA items (suppressors, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, machine guns) and parts designed to increase a firearm's rate of fire.
Our filter is cautious on purpose. When a product name does not tell us enough, the item is left out, so now and then something lawful will be missing. Your dealer still applies the law at the counter, and you are responsible for knowing the rules where you live. Our Maryland gun law guide is a starting point.
